QualiMed Hospital – Iloilo Celebrates National Breastfeeding Awareness Month
The celebration of QualiMed Hospital – Iloilo for National Breastfeeding Awareness Month with the theme “Gatas ni Nanay, Masustansiyang Tunay” was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Lactation Management Committee headed by Dr. Gemma Transporto and Nurse Clecile Gabutin. This year’s theme aims to empower all mothers to support, promote, and sustain breastfeeding.
The grand event opened with a personality development lecture for moms and culminated with an awarding ceremony of the first-ever “brelfie” (breastfeeding selfie) photo contest.
A total of 17 mothers participated in the contest; 40 entries were submitted from which the top 10 finalists were chosen based on the designed criteria.
The top three winners were:
1st Place: Julnafe Libo-on
2nd Place: Holy Rose Denila
3rd Place: Glea Junette Jalando-on
Guests from the group Breastfeeding Ilonggas – Adhara Alcudia and Anjee Vios, as well as friends from the Panay News graced the event. QualiMed breastfeeding moms, who have attended three succeeding Mothers’ Class talks and are actively breastfeeding were also recognized as model mothers.
