QualiMed Opens its first hospital at Ayala Land’s Atria Park District in Iloilo City
17 OCTOBER 2014 – In its commitment to enhance land and enrich the lives of more Filipino families, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) brings affordable healthcare through its first QualiMed Hospital in Atria Park District, Iloilo City.
QualiMed Hospital opens its first phase with a specialty Women’s and Children’s Center equipped with 40 beds and 9 specialty group practice clinics. It makes available to Iloilo the latest in Radiology and Medical Imaging; Dialysis; Inpatient Care; Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery; Physical Rehabilitation; Laboratory Diagnostics; and Emergency Care. By 2015, with over a hundred-bed capacity, QualiMed Hospital in Atria Park District becomes a full-service general hospital.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Ayala Corporation Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Land Director Tony Aquino, Ayala Land Head of VisMin Operations Emilio Tumbocon, Ayala Land Group Head for Healthcare David San Pedro, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog, QualiMed Health Network President and CEO Dr. Edwin Mercado, and QualiMed Hospital Iloilo President and COO Dr. Henry Tupas. Also in attendance were the Ayala Land VisMin team including Deputy Group Head Jun Bisnar, Business Development Head Jojo Lopez, Retail Operations Area Head Clavel Tongco; Avida President Chris Maglanoc, Ayala Land Corporate Brand Marketing Head Cathy Bengzon, and SEDA Hotel’s Communications Manager Genny Puno.
The Atria Park District is ALI’s first integrated, master planned, mixed-use community and largest investment in Iloilo. Once completed, the 21-hectare mixed-used estate will integrate a residential development by Avida, a retail community hub called Shops at Atria, the Iloilo-Ayala Land TechnoHub, Ayala Land’s own hotel brand SEDA, the prestigious Ateneo de Iloilo, as well as dedicated, open and landscaped spaces. ALI and the Pison family of Iloilo have partnered in the development of Atria Park District.
Other activities during the opening day includes a courtesy lunch of Ayala Group and QualiMed VIPs with local government officials to build a better relationship with the local decision makers; a media briefing in the afternoon to raise awareness on the new hospital; and a Doctors’ Fellowship Night to thank all doctors and stakeholders for the successful opening of the QualiMed Hospital Women’s and Children’s Center in Iloilo.
